Digital Extremes are updating Warframe with Mastery Ranks for weapons, and in doing so they're making a big overhaul of the weapon systems in the game. All the details are below.
The Best Free SCARY Games on PC!!
You can read the full Dev Workshop update here. It's quite sizeable, with a list of every single change made to every weapon. In general the Mastery Ranks being added will make big changes to the weapons, shotguns are getting zoom aim reductions, and they're revisiting weapon crafting costs.
Pretty much every weapon has has something increased, either damage, status chance, critical chance or critical damage. A few weapons have seen some reductions - the Telos Boltor for example has had its damage decreased from 50 to 30, and the Tiberon has had a huge reduction in damage from 60 to 44.
Digital Extremes also notes, "If you're a player who doesn't meet the new MR requirements for their favourite piece of equipment, don't fret! If you already own the weapon, you will be able to use it regardless of the higher MR requirement. These MR tweaks will only affect Tenno who newly acquire the weapons listed after these changes make it in-game." Which is nice.
Warframe remains one of the most played games on Steam, and is the most popular free-to-play game on Steam - over even Team Fortress 2. When the Plains of Eidolon expansion came out it became the 4th most popular game on Steam. It's dropped back to 6th but is still huge.
Are you still playing it? Will these weapon changes affect you? Let us know in the comments!
