The weirdly named A Plague Tale: Innocence is an upcoming stealth adventure game in which millions of rats ravage the 1349's Kingdom of France - already beset by war and the Black Death. Guiding orphan siblings Amicia and young Hugo through the medieval towns, you must avoid both inquisitors and the vermintide as you make your way to safety.
Developed by Asobo Studio for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC the game mixes historical fantasy with stealth, creating a very novel experience. Rats swarm through the country, devouring everything in their path, and the only thing that keeps them back is light.
However, light sources are hard to come by, and you must both use the environment's and manage your own as well as take out the lanterns and torches carried by inquisitors, sending them to a painful, ratty death. The game basically sounds like The Last of Us, but with rats and no guns.
Focus released a bunch of screenshots about the game today, and you can see them throughout this article and down below. If you want to kill rats right now, check out Vermintide 2's release times.
A Plague Tale: Innocence launches in 2019 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
