The Banner Saga 3, upcoming third installment of the critically acclaimed indie turn-based strategy/RPG hybrid now has a release date. The pre-order bonuses for the game, as well as the three editions that will be available, were also detailed. This game will be the last in the saga, concluding the storyline and hopefully providing some answers to questions that have been floating around since the first entry.
The Banner Saga 3 will be the first instance of a game in this series being simultaneously released across multiple platforms. With versions being released for PC, MAC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, they covered pretty much every currently relevant platform save for mobile. The game will be released on the 24th of July, 2018, so fans don’t have too long a wait ahead of them.
Digital pre-orders for the PC version are already live, and will reward buyers with a Dredge Ally Pack DLC for the game upon release. The pack includes Kivi, a Rank 10 Dredge Stoneguard hero, a combat ability, an item, Dredge heraldry, a heroic title and an exclusive Overture music track from the game which isn’t present in other releases of the soundtrack available with some of the special editions of the game.
The Banner Saga 3 will launch with 3 editions for the digital version, and a physical package. The Standard edition, containing just the game will cost $24.99. The Deluxe edition will add the soundtrack, a digital wallpaper, world map and Gold Wasp in-game title for $29.99, while the Legendary edition will contain all that, the Shadow Walker heroic title, the Pertie Clan Ring item and an exclusive digital novel set in the Banner Saga world titled “Gift of Hadrborg”, totalling at $39.99.
The physical release of the game will be available for PS4 and Xbox One, and will contain the entire Banner Saga series. Beyond all three games, this edition will include a small-form art book, a poster, a soundtrack collection with tracks from all three games and some special in-game items. This version will match the Legendary edition’s price of $39.99.
The Banner Saga 3 will launch on the 24th of July for PC, MAC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
