The Netflix show based on The Witcher was announced last year, and will be closer to series creator Andrzej Sapkowski's original books than the games - as Sapkowski will serve as Creative Consultant.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who was producer and writer on Netflix and Marvel's Daredevil and The Defenders, tweeted the following to say that she had finished the Pilot script for the show.

What happens next is that if Netflix like the script they'll put it into production, make the episode, and then decide from the Pilot whether it's good enough for a full series. In other words, there is still a long way to go before we see Geralt of Rivia on our screens in live-action, but the gears are definitely moving towards it happening.
The Witcher game trilogy developer CD Projekt strongly suspect they'll return to The Witcher universe at some point but for now hopefully we'll get more on their next game Cyberpunk 2077 soon.
Of course there already is a Polish TV series and movie based on The Witcher, which you can see the first episode of below -
they're all on YouTube with English subtitles. They're also awful, so hopefully the new version will be a little better.
