Conan Exiles publishers Funcom and Petroglyph Games, the ex-Westwood team behind Command & Conquer and Star Wars: Empire At War, have announced a partnership that will see Petroglyph create a new Conan game for Funcom.
The new game will release in early 2019. We can only assume the Conan title will be an RTS, but given Petroglyph's experience it seems a fair assumption.
You can check out the announcement here. The title will be fully funded and published by Funcom. The publishers report that they also have a new Conan game in development at their Funcom Oslo studio, as well as a "cooperative online shooter" being made at their Funcom North Carolina team - which is based on one of their Heroic Signatures IPs that isn't Conan. So possibly Mutant Chronicles again, Solomon Kane or Kult.
This is off the back of their reveal of Mutant: Year Zero, based on their other IP Mutant Chronicles.
Conan Exiles has sold 1.4 million units and "will soon be Funcom’s best-selling game to date". As for Petroglyph, you can check out our hands-on with their latest RTS Forged Battalion right here.
