If you enjoy high-intensity multiplayer games with pretty, flashing colors, then chances are, you may find solace in Laser League. It’s basically a sports game that takes place in the future of 2150.
The idea is to go up against the opposition for control nodes that surrounds the arena with deadly lasers. As expected, players must avoid the lasers to stay alive, but that’s easier said than done.
To win the game, players must eliminate their opponents as quickly as possible with special offensive and defensive abilities. Additionally, the game provides power-ups on the arena floor that are powerful enough to change the tide of battle.
The developers claim Laser League is accessible and easy to understand. However, a complex play-style that works could allow for greater rewards.
Coming out of Early Access
The team behind Laser League says the game is finally out of Early Access, and as such, will find its way to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC platform via Steam.
"Early Access has allowed us to get feedback from players and focus on the priorities" said Simon Bennett, studio director, Roll7. "We have worked on bringing new players to the community and delivering new and exciting content. Leaving Early Access is the culmination of a development process that started many years ago and it allows us to get Laser League into the hands of more players, across multiple platforms, so we can answer that call and grow our community."
Laser League is set to launch with several maps and customization options to keep players returning for more on a regular basis.
Quite a few promotions
Here’s the thing, if you’re planning to purchase Laser League on Steam, the game will have a 40 percent discount during launch week, which runs from May 10 to May 16. If you’re a PlayStation 4 gamer, then there’s a 20 percent discount, but only during the pre-order time period.
As for the Xbox One, Laser League will take advantage of Microsoft’s Game Pass service
