Diablo 4 seems to be well underway, if a recent job listing posted by Blizzard on their official website is anything to go by. The popular developer is now looking for a new quest designer to add to their ranks, which hints at some interesting notions.
It is worth keeping in mind that the project in question is still regarded as an unannounced Diablo project, so we may be in for a Diablo sudoku game for our phones. Keep your expectations in check, is the bottom line.
The job listing in question is "looking for a talented content designer with a combined gameplay and storytelling background to help us create play areas, quests, characters, and dialogue for an upcoming project."
While it is pretty much a bog-standard job listing, the requirements are numerous and rather specific, with Blizzard looking for a person with extensive knowledge of "the gothic fantasy of Diablo", knowledge of quest design and gameplay fundamentals, and the ability to write gothic horror content. If you'd like to apply, keep in mind that they also wish for someone with experience in RPG world-building and writing, and someone who can "inspire creativity".
Of course, this is Blizzard we're talking about, so it's a bit of a given that they would be looking for a very, very qualified individual. Especially following their latest Diablo: Immortal fiasco. Eager to apply? Jump on it!
