Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Asobo Studios have announced that medieval stealth adventure A Plague Tale: Innocence will launch on May 14 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
A webseries will provide a look behind the scenes of the game, as members of the development team delve deeper into various elements of A Plague Tale: Innocence and its development process.
The first episode, which you can watch below, is titled Roots of Innocence and focuses on the game’s protagonists, Amicia and Hugo, and their relationship, while introducing their voice actors, Charlotte McBurney and Logan Hannan.
The two are children travelling through 14th century France while the Black Death runs rampant and swarms of rats are encroaching upon human settlements. Amicia must take care of her 5-year-old brother as they push forward, eluding both the rats and the Inquisition.
A Plague Tale: Innocence will explore the effects that the horrible state of the world has on the children’s minds. While Hugo, being younger and more vulnerable, takes a posture that’s closer to that of a victim, Amicia discovers how far she can go in order to ensure their survival. “We wanted to accentuate the contrast between our characters, who are quite fragile, as well as the hard, cruel world that surrounds them.”, Art Director Olivier Ponsonnet said.
