Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has now begun its holiday celebrations with the start of the Yule Festival, and it’s looking like all the drinking has already left its mark on Eivor, courtesy of some freshly introduced bugs.
One AC Valhalla Yule Festival bug occurs after participating in the event’s drinking contest, making it hard for Eivor to shake off Aegir’s touch. It puts the protagonist in a drunken state every time players load the game, respawn or wake up.
You can’t shake it off naturally, either. As Reddit user dragonchasers points out, the effect wears off only after you’ve fast travel. While this bug is a bit closer to the spirit of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Yule Festival, others are proving a much bigger hindrance for players.
Invisible obstacles can appear in the middle of the arena during brawls. A particularly nasty bug places quest markers during The Case of The Missing Ale and other Yule Festival quests far from the actual destinations that players must reach, translating to quite a bit of lost time.
During the same quest, a barrel you have to retrieve can disappear, especially when you try to put it on a boat.
Players are also reporting enemies not attacking them in combat but masterfully dodging melee blows or special abilities not working during bigger battles.
Forcing the large door during the Brewing Rebellion quest also seems to prove impossible, Eivor’s allies casually watching them struggle with it while refusing to help.
Prior to AC Valhalla’s Yule Festival bugs running rampant, Patch 1.1.0 addressed quite a few of the game’s other issues while introducing support for festivals and settlement expansion.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
