Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Triumph Studios today announced that Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn, the 4X strategy game’s first content pack DLC, has locked down its release date to later this month.
As its title suggests, Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn revolves around dragons, introducing a new ruler type, the Lizardfolk as a new race, alongside new Tomes of Magic and more.

The DLC also brings with it a new realm option that sees players trying to conquer lands marked by a conflict between six elder dragons.
Here is Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn’s key features, as detailed by the publisher in an emailed press release:
- Dragon Rulers, a distinct new leader type, customizable from snout to tail, with unique new skills, equipment, transformations, and associated events!
- Lizardfolk, a new physical appearance for your factions
- Tome of Evolution, adding new units that evolve as they level, and new spells to boost all evolving units
- Tome of Dragons, adding spells to summon dragons, wield the power of dragons, and become dragons!
- The Ashen War, a new realm option where six mighty elder dragons have locked in
Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn is slated to launch on June 20, 2023. The DLC costs $9.99/£8.49/€9.99 and is included in both the Premium Edition and the Expansion Pass for anyone who opted to purchase either of them.
Accompanying it is the free Wyvern update, which brings with it various quality-of-life upgrades alongside balance changes and more.
