PDXCON 2019 brought good news for Age of Wonders: Planetfall fans. The title’s first expansion, Revelations, is set to launch as soon as next month.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Revelations introduces a number of new features, while focusing on the return of the Ancient Heritor.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall Revelations Expansion
In Age of Wonders: Planetfall’s lore, the Heritor are descendants of the entombed Es’Teq dynasty, who wield Entropy weapons “that are effective against machines and can awaken ancient Es’Teq minds”. Their ultimate goal is to “reincarnate billions of followers across the galaxy” and establish theocratic rule.
The Heritor secret technology relies on draining the essence of their opponents and using it to fuel powerful abilities, create Entropy weapons or even spawn new units.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Revelations also introduces anomalous sites, rife with traps and enemies, but also hiding great rewards. Not only that, but the choices you’ll get when interacting with them vary depending on both faction and secret technology.
Players will also be treated to 10 hours’ worth of new campaign missions focusing on both the Es’Teq dynasty and its Heritor descendants.
The Heritor’s return also brought back to action the new Forgotten NPC faction and opposing Reapers that hunt everything that walks the planet. You’ll also bump into ravenous, bio-engineered pigs that went rabid after the Star Union fell.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Revelations is set to release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on November 19. You can get it either as part of the Season Pass or individually for the price of $14.99 / £11.39 / €14.99.
