Anthem Masterwork Drop Rate?
In Anthem, Mastework items are the penultimate tier of attainable gear, with the max tier, Legendary, simply being an iteration of the given Masterwork item. In other words, the only way to even earn a Legendary is for you to roll a Masterwork which then rolls again into a Legendary. RNG is not on your side, that's for sure.
However, there are ways to game the RNG and drastically increase your odds of getting a Masterwork. While it's hard to find any information on what the base Masterwork drop percentage is, we do know that each of the three Grandmaster difficulties increases this percentage by a fair bit:
Grandmaster 1: enemy health +165%, Masterwork drop chance +164%
Grandmaster 2: enemy health +430%, Masterwork drop chance +428%
Grandmaster 3: enemy health +950%, Masterwork drop chance +956%
Furthermore, Masterwork gear can also be attained by completing Legendary Contracts and Legendary Strongholds, as each objective provides you with a guaranteed treasure chest in which a Masterwork may roll. Combining Grandmaster difficulties with this may be your best bet in earning Masterwork gear.
