Downing opponents, whether by unloading an entire magazine or a few skilfully-placed shots, is one of the most satisfying things in Apex Legends. Much like other battle royale titles, however, depleting one’s health doesn’t outright kill them. Instead, they’re knocked down, allowing teammates to bring them back into the fight, provided they’re quick enough. So how do you execute them for good?
While filling them up with even more bullets also works, Apex Legends Finishers provide a more stylish way of executing enemies.
How can you Execute Finishers in Apex Legends?</center>
Although not covered by the tutorial, Apex Legends Finishers are deceptively easy to execute. All you really need to do is find an opponent that's knocked down, face them and hold the E key for a few seconds, once you notice the prompt. This will trigger a stylish cutscene in which you finish them off, while rendering their knockdown shield useless.
The downside to executing Finishers is that you'll be exposed to enemy fire. If someone lands a shot before the Finisher animation is done, you'll not only take damage but also be kicked out of it without finishing the downed opponent off.
Each Legend starts off with one unlocked Finisher. All characters can unlock two more Finishers from the tab in the Legends menu, except for Bangalore and Mirage who only have one unlockable Finisher at the moment. All locked Finishers are of Legendary rarity and will set you back 1200 Crafting Materials each.
