Apex Legends’ Season 3, called Meltdown finally has an official release date. Publisher Electronic Arts today revealed that it is set to kick off on October 1, which is a bit over a week from now.
As expected, Apex Legends Season 3 - Meltdown will come with a hefty new batch of content. Players can look forward to a brand new Battle Pass full of cosmetic items to unlock, but also a new legend: Crypto.

Although specifics weren’t shared yet, Crypto’s lore video, which you can watch below, positions him as a character with a knack for hacking and surveying the battlefield. It’ll be interesting to see how he’ll shake up things in Apex Legends.
Alongside the new Battle Pass coming to Apex Legends in Season 3 - Meltdown, players will also get a new weapon with which to blow their opponents up. More specifically, we’re talking about the Charge Rifle, which is a “directed-energy weapon”.
Apex Legends’ Ranked Series 2 will build on the previous season’s foundation. When the new season kicks off in October, there’ll be a soft position reset (1.5 tiers down for each player). The scoring system will see a number of changes, which you can read about in this dedicated post.
