Assassin's Creed Odyssey is out this week, but it's a little bit of a performance hog on PC. Well, don't worry. We've got a simple Assassin's Creed Odyssey PC Performance Fix for you to try out.
It won't work for everyone, but it's easy to do and costs nothing to try. Do you have Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PC? Are you having trouble running it without stuttering, bad frame-rates or low performance on Windows 10? Give this tip a go.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey PC Performance and Stuttering Fix
The first point is the obvious one: make sure all your drivers are up to date. Nvidia, for example, has just released a specific Game Ready Driver just to improve performance on the PC version of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, so make sure you have that installed - otherwise Uplay will bug you with an error message that won't go away (Shift+F2 is the shortcut to turn it off, took us a while to remember that).
Our other big fix is a simple but effective one: you need to disable full-screen optimization if you're using Windows 10.
Go to the game's directory - the Uplay default folder for the game is Program Files x86/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/Games/Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Then right-click on the 'ACOdyssey.exe' application (it should be at the top), go to 'Properties', then 'Compatibility', and then click the box that says 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations".
Our system is an AMD FX-8300 Six-Core Processor, 16 Gb RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb, and Windows 10 64-Bit, and this fix made our framerates much more stable. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Thanks to the unfortunately named sloppypoobag on Reddit for this fix!
