Assassin's Creed Odyssey is out this week and it's got a lot of greatness in it, but one of the more annoying aspects about it is the slightly intrusive HUD. However there's good news, as Assassin's Creed Odyssey UI elements can be turned off.
But how do you customize your HUD in Assassin's Creed Odyssey? What are the best options to turn off, and which can't you do without? Read on and we'll do our best to answer.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey UI: How To Customize Your HUD
It's very easy to customize your HUD in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and disable UI elements. Go to the main menu in-game (so you can see the difference immediately), go to Options, and select the HUD tab. You should see around 20 UI elements and a separate 'Presets' option on the left.
The HUD Presets allow for various preset UI options if you don't want to choose them individually. The default is full, but we personally went with Light. After that it's entirely up to you. Here are some choice UI elements to disable:
- If you want to turn off warnings about targets being close and to use Ikaros, turn off 'Tips and Messages
- If you want to turn off that flashing red light at the top of the screen and the overbearing location compass, turn off 'Compass'
- If you don't want your objectives and the 'location objectives' to be on-screen at all times, turn off 'Mini Quest Log and Objectives'
- Turn off 'Fight Damage Numbers', because why do you need this?
Turning these UI elements off is a good way to make Assassin's Creed Odyssey less videogame-y, and goes well with the new Exploration Mode. But at the end of the day, the choice is yours!
