Assassin's Creed Odyssey is really full of surprises, it seems, as the latest in a long line of wonderfully amusing easter eggs is a hint that Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed are set in the very same universe. More importantly, it's a hint that a new Splinter Cell game may be announced soon enough!
Players have recently come across a rather prominent Splinter Cell reference in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, where characters come across Sam Fisher's signature combo-goggles, and mention the Third Echelon specifically, the organisation that kickstarted the Splinter Cell programme.
Now, obviously, this is probably nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek reference to Ubisoft's other prominent franchise, but when you put it next to the recent Splinter Cell event that was featured in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, it's hard not to get the sense that a new Splinter Cell may be nearing an official announcement.
More importantly, there are a couple of those god-forsaken Rabbid creatures located close by as well, and this allows us to do some serious deduction work in order to combine as many of the popular franchises under the Ubisoft umbrella as possible! Namely, we can now safely relate Watch Dogs to the Predator, following another one of the Ghost Recon events.
Mind, one of the Watch Dogs convoy missions has you taking down a high-ranking Abstergo employee, so clearly, it's open season on ridiculous franchise combinations. Really, the question we ought to be asking ourselves is: when are we going to be assassinating Xenomorphs in far future? Also, how about a new Splinter Cell, Ubisoft?
