Swedish developer Fall Damage has let loose the first trailer for their upcoming title Batalj.
An “online turn-based action strategy game”, Batalj features one-on-one battles with a twist: both players plan their combat actions simultaneously. After they’ve decided upon a strategy, the game moves into action phase where their decisions unfold.
The title will feature three factions, Rusters, Re-Linked and Splicers, with a total of 54 distinct units used for building custom squads. There’s a fair bit of variety when it comes to units, too, the trailer showcasing flying drones, swift cyberninjas as well as what seems to be a levitating psyonic warrior of sorts.
“We focused on making it as accessible as possible without sacrificing depth. The players will realize that they have endless options to mix and match units in their squad, trying out different lineups will be both exciting and challenging.”, Creative Director Markus Nyström says.
Battalj is currently aiming for a 2019 release on PC. Those attending Dreamhack Winter in Jönköping can try out the title’s Beta during the event.
