From the start of your journey, <a href=”https://www.gamewatcher.com/games/biomutant”</a>Biomutant</a> gives you a trusty Automaton that follows you around. It’s a constant companion that you can upgrade to aid you in battle or while traversing the world. But more importantly, you can change how it looks through ten Appearances spread across different locations in the world.
Like with most things in Biomutant, a side quest guides you towards them, but this one is a bit less straightforward than others are, in a sense. To make things clearer, this guide covers how to obtain Automaton Appearances.
Your journey towards finding Biomutant’s Automaton Appearances begins with the Old World Knowledge side quest, which you get when interacting with noticeboards spread all over the world. You’ll very likely spot your first one in Bricktown, as you’re leaving the underground, but may not immediately know that it may lead to finding cool skins for your robot bug buddy.
Although you need to find 15 noticeboards to complete the side quest, there only seem to be 10 Automaton Appearances in Biomutant. Interacting with a noticeboard sends you to a different location on the map, where you may or may not find one of them.
Not only do you seem to not always be rewarded Automaton Appearances, but those you do obtain are also randomized, making it impossible to target specific ones. You’ll know you’re about to get one when the quest marker leads you to a prize box.
Hence, depending on how focused you are on obtaining all of them, you may want to keep the quest on the backburner and complete its objectives when other quests also send you through the same areas.
