Biomutant is an open world game that’s full of activities you can take part in, both on the critical path and off it. With as many things to do as it offers, you might be wondering how long it takes to beat.
There’s no straightforward answer to how many hours it takes to complete Biomutant, since that really depends on your approach.
We beat Biomutant in a bit over 31 hours, playing through both the main story and a good number of side quests. At the same time, plenty of the latter remained unfinished in our journal. If you focus just on the main story, we estimate it could take anywhere between 10-14 hours to complete.
A mixed playthrough like ours can bring you closer to the 30-hour mark, but even then, factors like exploration and how many side quests you finish can change that.
A completionist playthrough could likely take upwards of 45 hours, so it’s safe to say that Biomutant has plenty of content. It’s only a matter of how much you want to engage with it before putting the game down.
- Estimated story-focused playthrough completion time: 10-14 hours
- Mixed playthrough completion time, based on our own: 31 hours
- Estimated completionist playthrough completion time: 45+ hours
Then there’s also new game plus to take into consideration, which lets you keep your hard-earned gear and abilities while refreshing the world and making enemies tougher.
