Bleeding Edge is what happens when classic hack 'n' slash/action game developers decide to go out of their way to create a multiplayer MOBA-ish game. This 4v4 team brawler is like nothing we've had the chance to see yet.
As part of this article, you're going to find out everything there is to know - so far - about Bleeding Edge, including its beta testing period, character information, gameplay bits and pieces, leaks, and lots more. Just keep reading!
Bleeding Edge Characters
Just as its name might suggest, Bleeding Edge is going to be on the edgier side of things with its visual style, gameplay mechanics, and - most importantly - its character roster. Featuring such fighters as the entirely badass Buttercup with her detachable chainsaw weaponry, or the appropriately dark Nidhoggr Black Metal rocker, who slays his foes with actual guitar riffs, Bleeding Edge isn't afraid of hamming things up.
It's a given that some people might be put off by this, but it does seem like the game's visual style and character selection go hand-in-hand. Only time will tell, however!
Bleeding Edge Gameplay
This game's core gameplay mechanic is going to be centered around 4v4 multiplayer clashes that would not be out of place in a high-end MOBA game. However, Ninja Theory's trademark combo-oriented and flash melee combat is going to come out to shine here, making the game far more involved than your usual MOBA fare.
Bleeding Edge is going to play out from the usual third-person perspective, which will allow for Ninja Theory to pour all of their technical mastery into making the game as fun and accessible as it is flashy and brutal.
Bleeding Edge Early Alpha
You read that right! If you're particularly interested in seeing just what it is that Ninja Theory can offer in the 4v4 multiplayer arena, you can already sign up for Early Alpha access to Bleeding Edge. According to latest information, the Alpha testing is slated to kick off on 27th of June. Who knows, you might be granted access, with luck.
Bleeding Edge Leaks
Crafty readers might remember Game Watcher's early coverage of Bleeding Edge, where we noted one of the first E3 leaks that suggested a whole lot of information about Ninja Theory's upcoming multiplayer offering.
Since then, a number of claims have been confirmed. Most of them, in fact, including the notion that Bleeding Edge is a 4v4 multiplayer hack 'n' slash, that it's going to be a far cry from the studio's previous offering - Hellblade - and some of the details about the characters themselves.
