Borderlands 3 promises to give players “a bazillion guns” to find, equip and use to ravage infinite stream of baddies. As good a pull as loot that makes things go boom is, Guardian ranks will also be there to give players an incentive to come back after finishing the story.
The inclusion of the Guardian Rank system in Borderlands 3 was confirmed by creative director Paul Sage during the PC Gaming Show part of E3 2019.
Borderlands 3 Guardian Ranks
Guardian ranks in Borderlands 3 build upon the concept of the Badass ranks first introduced in Borderlands 2. The way they worked made completing specific challenges, like killing enemies by throwing guns at them, reward players points which could be spent to improve various passive stats, like shield capacity and weapon fire rate.
Guardian ranks build upon this system, continuing to provide players with an opportunity for infinite progression, while also adding “skills and different skins that you can unlock as you go through”. Not only that, but every character on the same Borderlands 3 account will be able to reap the system’s benefits.
Borderlands 3 is set to release on September 13 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
