Borderlands 3 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting looter-shooter titles ever made, and amidst the rumours, we've heard some about Borderlands 3 Split Screen too. Are they just rumours, though, or is there some truth to the matter?
Borderlands Split Screen has been a thing for ages, though predominantly on consoles. PC players could use various hacks and utilities to achieve a cheekier version of the same thing, but it's never been officially supported on PC. Is third time the charm for us PC fans?
Borderlands 3 Split Screen Support?
Due to there not being that much information available about Borderlands 3 - at least not much of its technical nature - we've taken to sifting through the game's various store listings to try and get a complete picture of how the game will behave in practice. Now, according to the Microsoft Store, Borderlands 3 is indeed tagged as a 'local co-op' game.
This means that, of course, Borderlands 3 will support local co-op on consoles - two players at the same time, in fact - though Gearbox was also careful to note afterwards that split-screen will be found on PS4 and XBOne, though no such confirmation was made for PC.
Given experience, this leaves us to assume that there will be no split-screen Borderlands 3 on PC. At least, not officially. We'll see how moddable the game is in practice, and maybe then someone will be able to hack together a solution.
