Call of Cthulhu is out now, and while it has some problems it's still a worthy adventure-RPG with a lot of creepiness to it. The most terrifying encounter you'll have is with the Call of Cthulhu Shambler.
After the first sneaky encounter with the Shambler, you'll eventually have to banish it. Here's how to find all three Glyphs and how to beat the Call of Cthulhu Shambler boss! WARNING: SPOILERS FOR EVENTS IN THE GAME!
How to Beat the Call of Cthulhu Shambler and Find All Glyphs
You first encounter the Shambler as Detective Pierce in an art gallery in Chapter 6. To defeat it there you first have to look at the nearby scrap of paper with a dagger pictured on it - then find the dagger somewhere in the gallery. Release the Shambler by looking at the painting, avoid it (hide in the locker if you have to), get to that dagger and smash the case. Grab it, and run to the painting before it catches you - where you can use the dagger on the painting and cast it out for now.
The proper boss fight with the Shambler comes later, in Chapter 10. You'll be in control of Sarah Hawkins and will be escorting Algernon Drake. You'll find yourself in a looping area with a lot of bodies strewn around, and the Shambler painting in the centre. Algernon will cast a protective spell, which you can return to at any time. Then you'll be tasked with finding three Glyphs, which aren't obvious - and the occasional appearance by the Shambler makes it harder.
Glyph 1: Just by Algernon, to the left where you entered the area, on a raised wooden platform. Dispel it by shining your lamp on it.
Glyph 2: The hardest, because it's actually hidden. In the area directly behind the Shambler painting is a cave with a large board covering part of it. It's in the picture above. You can actually shift that board out of the way, and behind it is the second Glyph. Dispel it then run back to Drake, since the Shambler will be in hot pursuit.
Glyph 3: The closest to Drake - just turn right and it's on the small area overlooking his protective bubble.
Get rid of all these then quickly return to the painting. Make sure to hold the Light button to concentrate the lamp's light, in order to temporarily slow down the Shambler. Get back to Drake and the painting and you can banish the creature forever!
