Publisher Iceberg Interactive and developer Luminous today announced that multiplayer RTS Circle Empires Rivals is set to release on PC early next year.
In response to fans’ requests, Circle Empires Rivals aims to take the fast-paced RTS gameplay of the original title and put it, for the first time, in a multiplayer context.
Circle Empires Rivals Announced
Just like in the original, Circle Empires Rivals takes place in a world made up entirely of interconnected circles that are occupied by all manners of monsters and which hide lots of loot. The main difference, as you can probably tell, is that now, you’re battling it out against other players instead of just the AI.
By the sound of it, Circle Empires Rivals will be entirely multiplayer-focused, coming with with “a variety of online game modes”, both competitive and cooperative.
Players will battle it out across procedurally generated worlds, taking over circles that house different flora and fauna. You’ll control, go against and build over 250 different creatures and buildings, all while gathering resources an leveling up your units.
Circle Empires Rivals will feature more than 25 faction leaders and 40 bosses which you can hunt to your heart’s contempt, as long as the other guy doesn’t get to them first. If they do, you could always hunt them instead.
The cute, cartoonish art style of the original is still very much there, paving the way for cheerfully slaughtering industrial amounts of monsters in exchange for chunks of land and shiny trinkets.
Circle Empires Rivals will launch on PC, via Steam, at some point in Early 2020. Check out its teaser trailer below.
