Code Vein differs from many Souls-alikes, in that it’s got a special trading system - where you can discover Valuables around the world and bring them to various NPCs to trade. One of these Valuables is the Code Vein Elegant Fountain Pen - we can tell you exactly where to find it, and who’s the best person to trade it to.
When you trade an item to a character at the Home Base hub, you get a certain amount of Trading Points depends on how much that character wants the item - which you can use to buy special items from them. The big difficulty with Code Vein trading is that you often have no idea who’s the best person to give a Valuable to, or how many points you’ll get, until you’ve already traded it. We’ve got where to go for the Elegant Fountain Pen, and the best person to trade it with.
Where to find the Code Vein Elegant Fountain Pen
The Elegant Fountain Pen is one of the rarer Valuables in the game, and can only be found in a couple of locations in the Area H-14 sector, which is a few hours into the game.
The first reported area to find this valuable is the first part of H-14, the Dried-Up Trenches. You'll eventually run into a narrow passage with three enemies - a Mutated Lost (one of the bigger creatures), and two regular Lost wielding either a Bayonet or an Axe. Kill them, and in that area you should be able to pick up three items - three Inhibit Cartridge and a single Elegant Fountain Pen.
The second reported area is in the second part of H-14, in the Decayed Ship Interior. You'll eventually run into the area in the picture below, with a large red Lost. Head left after defeating him, and you should encounter a few more enemies - and the other Elegant Fountain Pen. And that's all the locations for the Valuable we know of at this time!
Who is the best character to trade the Code Vein Elegant Fountain Pen to?
Considering how rare the Elegant Fountain Pen is to get, you'd think it would be worth a lot of Trading Points to the right person. The weird thing about this Valuable is that it's not actually that valuable!
That said, the best character to trade the Elegant Fountain Pen to is Louis, who'll give you 3 Trading Points. Most of the other characters will give you 2 Trading Points for it. Don't give it to Davis, Murasane or Yakumo however, as they'll only give you a measly 1 Trading Point for it!
