Code Vein has a lot of challenging content, but occasionally it's simply tricky to work out where you need to go next. It's bad enough trying to work out how to get to the Code Vein Howling Pit, but once you're there the question becomes, where do you go after meeting Mia?
After making your way through the confusing and maze-like Howling Pit, you'll be surprised to come across the Bloodspring tree you're searching for - without even a boss fight! Instead you encounter Mia Karnstein - who will be your third possible companion character, and your group decides to follow her. The trouble is... where is she?
In the Code Vein Howling Pit, where do you go after meeting Mia Karnstein?
After facing off against the Insatiable Despot and heading down the precarious hole to the Howling Pit, you'll encounter a foggy partially flooded area filled with monsters. After a little exploration, you'll find the Bloodspring, the Hills of Deception Mistle - and get a cutscene introducing Mia Karnstein.
Mia and her sick little brother then head off... somewhere, and you get a choice. The group wants to follow Mia, but the other Bloodspring is somewhere in the city ruins. Neither are very clear. The sensible thing, as you're here, is to go after Mia first - but where exactly did she head off to? You're told just to "search the Howling Pit", but where?
It's somewhere you probably overlooked.
To the far east of the Bloodspring, against the far wall, is a Rotten Mistle guarded by poisonous slugs. Kill them and you'll get a map of the area, as above. It seemed the natural way to go, but actually you need to head back to the Bloodspring and the area you encountered Mia. You see that little nub arrowed on the map? That's where Mia and her brother went.
Head there, and you'll find a little path you may have initially overlooked - we certainly did! The path beyond is pretty linear, but beware - you'll have to take on a few really tough enemies to collect keys to progress, and push levers to lower the water level. And yes - there will eventually be a boss! Good luck!
