Publisher Slitherine and developer Battlefront today announced that Combat Mission Cold War now has a release date. Announced in February, the strategy game ended up delayed until June two months later.
After a period of added silence, Combat Mission Cold War is now slated to release on July 22 and will feature an “improved PBEM multiplayer system” starting with day 1.
“We apologize for the delay, which was slightly longer than expected due to some internal factors caused by Covid,” reads the Steam post announcing the game’s new release date.
“Robust multiplayer is something we feel strongly about, so we hope you will enjoy the enhanced experience PBEM system will offer and why we felt we had to delay the release to include it.”
Combat Mission Cold War pits the US and Soviet armies against each other across three full-length campaigns and 15 standalone scenarios set in West Germany.
The title aims to explore the two armies’ transition towards modern digital warfare and you can find more about the game by visiting its Steam page.
