Combat Mission Shock Force 2 launch on Steam has been slightly delayed, with it now launching on 1st September, 2020. What’s unique about this release is that while the game is available to purchase on Steam, anyone who owns the game on either Battlefront or Matrix Games will also receive a Steam key.
Battlefront doesn’t have a system in place to deliver keys, so if you own the game on there you will first need to register an account with Matrix Games and then generate Steam keys for your base game and any additional DLC you have. If you get it on Matrix Games, it will automatically give you the individual keys.
The process for what to do with the Steam keys is then the same as any other key purchase. Open the Steam client, Games, Activate a Product on Steam, Next, Agree, then enter the code and confirm. This process is not a requirement however, and if you prefer to play without Steam, multiplayer is still possible between versions.
In short, customers who buy from Matrix will have a Matrix installer and Steam key, Battlefront users will have Battlefront and Steam, and Steam will just have Steam. You can have a look at Combat Mission Shock Force 2 on Steam, Matrix Games, or Battlefront.
