Most real-time strategy players will be familiar with Frank Klepacki’s iconic electronic industrial rock soundtracks from the Command and Conquer series. As a composer for Westwood Studios in the 90s, he produced some of the most acclaimed soundtracks, earning multiple awards throughout his career.
Klepacki currently serves as the audio director at Petroglyph Games, where he recently composed the soundtrack for this year’s release, 9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far. It was recently listed in our list of the best strategy games for 2024.

He released a new album on Spotify today titled “Greetings from 1986”. It features 11 tracks that echo familiar sounds from his discography, including Command and Conquer, Dune 2, Emperor: Battle for Dune, and the most recent, 9-Bit Armies. We’ve been listening to it this morning and can hear the resemblance from all those soundtracks.
