Conan Chop Chop has been delayed until next year but will now include an online multiplayer component at launch.
Publisher Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom have decided to delay Conan Chop Chop in order to take their time and “deliver a bigger and better game.”.
Conan Chop Chop Delayed
“One of the things we get to do with the extra time is expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer,” said founder and CEO of Mighty Kingdom Philip Mayes. “This has undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after we started showing off the game, so we’re very excited for the opportunity to bring that in.”
An action-adventure game with roguelike elements, Conan Chop Chop is a more lighthearted take on the popular universe. While it does have its share of treacherous wizards, ancient evils and savage enemies, the developer describes it as a “the most epic and realistic stick figure game ever to be set in the world of Conan the Barbarian”, noting the amount of “gore and flying limbs.”
Conan Chop Chop was actually revealed for the first time earlier this year on April 1st, its confirmation as a title in development coming later during E3 2019. The title is due out in Q1 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
