Conan Exiles will be getting a paid expansion in the second half fo 2020, publisher and developer Funcom has announced.
In its financial report for Q4 2019, Funcom called Conan Exiles “the most significant game that’s in operation right now”, which is likely the reason why a paid expansion is on the way following multiple smaller content packs.
Conan Exiles Paid Expansion
Conan Exiles reached “the third best average number PC player month since the January 2017 launch” in December 2019, while also seeing increased revenue in Q4 2019 as compared to Q4 2018.
The first half of 2020 will also bring a new DLC to Conan Exiles, which will likely fall in the “pack” category that all current post-launch content is a part of.
Funcom didn’t go into specifics regarding the title’s paid expansion and will reveal more details closer to release.
The publisher also noted that players reacted well to the Riders of Hyboria pack and its accompanying free update which introduced mounts and jousting to Conan Exiles.
The Dune open-world survival game is still in pre-production, although it is now labeled as “open world multiplayer” and is confirmed to have an estimated investment budget of 30 to 50 million dollars, which is bigger than Conan Exiles’. Funcom is currently “fleshing out what the game is going to be”.
Going forward, Funcom is actively investing in 10 games while mainly focusing on the Dune title and the upcoming Mutant Chronicles online shooter that will follow it.
