Counter-Strike 2 FPS Console Command
Before we can input CS2’s console commands for FPS, we’ll first need to activate the console itself. Thankfully, the process doesn’t involve any tinkering with external files.
All that we need to do is head into the settings menu, navigate to the Game tab, and find the Enable Developer Console setting. Then, select Yes from the dropdown menu to its right.
This enables us to use the console in-game by pressing the tilde key (`). CS2’s most popular FPS console command is arguably “cl_showfps x”, where x is a number from 0 to 4.
The numbers from 1 to 4 offer increasing amounts of details about your FPS but, if you’re looking for a simple way to track it, going with 1 usually does the trick. 0 then removes the text from your screen.
- cl_showfps 0-4 - Shows frame rate on-screen (0 disables it, numbers from 1-4 offer increasing amount of details)
- fps_max x - Sets frame rate limit to specified number, removes frame rate limit if set to 0
Another CS 2 console command for FPS is “fps_max x”, where x is a number going up from 0. The command itself allows you to set a custom frame rate limit or remove any limitation if followed by 0.
