Cozy Grove sends you on multiple item hunts each day, as you attempt to satisfy the sometimes strange needs of the island’s ghost bears. As you work towards learning more about them and maybe even getting back home, you’ll inevitably find yourself searching for Rare Shells.
As their name suggests, Cozy Grove Rare Shells can prove rather hard to find. The fact that there’s really only one method to get them means that you’ll very likely need to equip yourself with a fair bit of patience when combing the island.
Just like in real life, Rare Shells have a fondness for the beach. You’ll only find them in the sand-covered western portion of Cozy Grove’s island. They wait immobile on the ground and often stick out thanks to their different shapes.
You can pick them up by simply approaching them and pressing your interact key (E on PC). This prompts your character to swiftly throw them into their backpack.
Rare Shells have three uses in Cozy Grove. You’ll need them for certain quests, which is why it’s a good idea to keep a few stored either in your backpack or at camp. They do tend to eat up quite a bit of space, so you might not want to carry them with you at all times.
You can also donate them to Captain Billweather Snout’s collection, although he’ll only accept one of each type of shell. Lastly, you can sell them at Mr. Kit or other vendors around the island for a small sum of Old Coins, the game’s main currency.
Shells come in several rarities and there’s no wait to target rare ones, at least currently. This means that you’re at the mercy of the RNG gods. They do, however, count among the items that respawn periodically throughout the day.
To maximize your chances of obtaining the desired rarity, it’s a good idea to pick up all the shells on the beach, as that will prompt more to respawn after a time.
