Publisher Paradox Interactive today unveiled Crusader Kings 3: Fate of Iberia as the acclaimed grand strategy game’s second flavor pack. Having locked down its release date to late May, it aims to give players more tools with which to handle the Iberian Peninsula’s medieval drama.
Crusader Kings 3: Fate of Iberia also introduces the new Struggles system, which “highlights the unique historical circumstances that typify regions that have been centres of conflict.”
Crusader Kings 3: Fate of Iberia Flavor Pack Release
Going by the screenshots above, the Struggles system seems to involve multiple phases and characters while giving players the chance to bring the situation closer to a compromise by performing certain actions described as catalysts.
Here is the full list of features coming as part of Crusader Kings 3 Fate of Iberia flavor pack, as shared by the publisher:
- Struggle system: Entirely new system for historic conflict, fully moddable and customizable.
- Decide the Fate of Iberia: Choose the path of conciliation or the path of conquest as you unite Spain or, alternately, agree to a peaceful division of spoils.
- New content: Two new Legacy tracks (Urbane and Coterie), new Cultural Traditions emphasizing special historical characteristics of the Iberian peninsula, new friend interactions and duels over the chessboard.
- New Events: Dynamic historical events, some related to the struggle for Iberia, and others adding greater variety for all players.
- New Art: New character art like clothing, hair and beard styles reflecting Iberian cultures of the medieval era, as well as new unit designs and a host of new art for backgrounds, events, and loading.
- New Music: Additions to the Crusader Kings III soundtrack.
Accompanying the second flavor pack is the customary free update, which brings with it a new faction type, the ability to share Heads of Faith between different religions, vassal contracts for clans, and a new starting bookmark centered around notable Iberian characters for the game’s 867 start date.
Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia’s release date is currently slated for May 31. The DLC will be priced at $6.99/£5.19/€6.99 or your regional equivalent and is included in both the game’s expansion pass and its Royal Edition. Check out its announcement trailer below.
