Crusader Kings 3 lets you control a plethora of interesting characters but, as close as playing an insane, zealous nudist gets to being a god, the base game doesn’t quite dabble in matters of godhood.
That’s where CK3’s Pantheon of the Gods mod comes in, enabling characters to obtain powers well beyond the scope of mere humans while also introducing a certain popular pointy-eared race.
The Pantheon of the Gods mod gives your Crusader Kings 3 ruler the option of following an event chain that, if seen through to the end, results in them becoming a god. Naturally, adherents of your existing faith won’t like you very much for challenging its beliefs. The joke, however, is on them, since they’ll eventually die while you’ll be enjoying impeccable immortality.

You won’t have to hoard immortality for yourself, either. Crusader Kings 3’s Pantheon of the Gods mod also gives you the option of bestowing it unto others, with or without the added benefit of godhood. Alternatively, if someone’s being naughty, you could always send a nasty curse their way.
Gods, goddesses and demi-gods get their own specific traits that differentiate them from the less divine. There’s also a separate system that handles stat increases and trait inheritance. You can, eventually, have the blood of the gods as a congenital trait.
Pantheon of the Gods also lets you pick between playing as a benevolent deity or a fallen one that’s all about doing evil deeds.
The mod’s most recent update – at the time of writing – also introduces elves, whose main challenge revolves around keeping their blood pure. You’ll find them owning land in the Slavic states.
Like most Crusader Kings III mods, Pantheon of the Gods is at the start of the journey, features like new races, creatures and a magic system being planned for release in the future.
If the above sounds like something you’d like to try out, you can grab the mod from the Steam Workshop. You’ll also find more great picks on our list of the best Crusader Kings III mods.
