Daedalic Entertainment is taking its first step into real-time strategy territory with the freshly-announced A Year of Rain.
A Year of Rain is an RTS that will combine elements such as base building, resource gathering and unit training with powerful heroes. The title will feature three playable factions: House Rupah, Wild Outcasts and Restless Undead.
Daedalic Entertainment describes A Year of Rain as a “multiplayer real time strategy” which will be “Esports-ready” at launch. Among its multiplayer features, players can expect “a league system, competitive seasons, leaderboards, observer mode, replays, and more.
Alongside a 2v2 Skrimish mode, built with competitive matches in mind, A Year of Rain will also include the Against All Odds mode. This mode pits two heroes against two entire armies with “full command of units and structures. The title will also feature co-op campaigns.
A Year of Rain is set to launch on Steam Early Access at some point in 2019. Its initial offering will consist of “one initial campaign and several multiplayer modes”.
