Destiny 2's latest Exotic is a Kinetic Hand-Cannon: the Lumina. If you received the System Positioning Device but can't figure out what to do with it, here's how it relates to the Lumina, what it does, and how to use it.
It's no shame if you can't really figure out right away what every weird item in Destiny 2 does, because the game does like to get obscure and odd from time to time. The System Positioning Device, for example, is the special item you'll use to get ahead with the Lumina questline!
How to use System Positioning Device?
Using the SPD is easy: just go to your Pursuits tab and hover the pointer over its icon. This will reveal a small paragraph of text that, in more than a few words, tells you precisely where you need to go to finish this particular step of the Lumina questline.
In concrete terms, the System Positioning Device will tell you to go find a special ornate-looking chest at a randomly-selected location. This includes the Spine of Keres and Sinking Docks maps, but also a few others, such as the High Plains.
The catch is, of course, that the chest in question is often very well-hidden, so the System Positioning Device doesn't exactly help you in a very precise manner. Better than nothing, though!
