Diablo 2: Resurrected will allow players to import save files from the original version of the RPG and continue playing as their old characters when the remaster launches.
Diablo 2’s staying power is indisputable, many players still hacking and slashing at the ARPG’s demonic opponents, despite it being around for more than two decades now. The ability to import save files into Resurrected means that you won’t have to hop between versions to continue your original character’s adventure, which is definitely a great touch.
“Back when we were working on [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work and we kind of shoved it in and it worked! And we were like, ‘okay, that’s the best feature ever’,” Game Producer Matthew Cederquist told IGN Middle East.
Diablo 2: Resurrected will also feature cross-progression, allowing players to continue from where they left off with their characters should they decide to switch between platforms.
Players can expect Diablo 2: Resurrected to launch at some point later this year on PC and consoles.
