Dying Light 2’s Houndfield Electrical Station is one of several more important side activities you can complete during your time in Villedor, since it not only rewards you experience, but also changes the city’s alignment. If you’re aiming to get that crossbow, you’ll want to know the station’s location alongside the solution to its cable puzzle.
Although you have access to the district it’s in from early on, you can only access the station itself after you’ve played enough of the main story to unlock its associated side activity type. As you can probably tell, Dying Light 2’s Houndfield Electrical Station location is in the district of Houndfield.
More specifically, you’ll find it in the southern part of the district. The building stands out quite easily thanks to its height and unique design. If all else fails, the distinctive marker on the map should point you in the right direction. Reaching it, however, isn’t enough, as you’ll also have to get inside it.
To do so, you can ride a hook in the courtyard to its higher level, then drop to its lower roof and look for two shattered windows, which you can use to enter Dying Light 2’s Houndfield Electrical Station. There may be other ways to enter it, but this is what worked for me. With its location out of the way, let’s get to the cable puzzle.
Like with others across Villedor, Dying Light 2’s Houndfield Electrical Station cable puzzle solution involves linking the numbered cables to the numbered terminals. Cable 1 should go to terminal 1, cable to should go to terminal 2. The cables themselves have a limited length you can work with but, thankfully, this puzzle is among the easier ones you’ll encounter.
One particularly efficient method is to start with cable 2. In order to do so, jump towards the hanging yellow box at the center, then use it to reach the pillar with the four yellow sections. Climb them, go to the right, then use the rope to get across. Make a right, then another right and you should see cable number 2.
Open the nearby door since you’re here, grab it, then jump straight down but make sure to land on the trash bags below. You’re now in a chemical area, so you’ll have to move fast. Once you’re on the bottom floor, terminal 2 should be right behind you, so connect the cable.
Afterwards, turn to the left and go through the door towards the second half of Dying Light 2’s Houndfield Electrical Station cable puzzle solution.
Take the ladder up, go through the door behind you, then make a right. Climb the ladder in the room and you’ll reach cable 1. First, however, open the yellow door. Grab the cable, go through the door, make a left after exiting, and use the rope to get across.
When you’re close to the other side, drop down below to terminal 1. Connect it and the elevator should descend, taking you to the control room. Before going there, explore as much of the station as you can, since loot disappears once you activate it.
From the control room, you can complete the side activity while deciding if you want to hand the station over to the Survivors or the Peacekeepers.
