In Dyson Sphere Program, production depends on setting up proper power grids. You’ll want to make sure that all your extractors have enough juice in order to establish a steady resource flow. Power generating buildings like Solar Panels can help you achieve those very goals.
Each building that generates power in Dyson Sphere Program has its own particularities in terms of how they function. Solar Panels, for example, only require exposure to the sun’s rays to produce power. While this means that you won’t need to sacrifice other resources, you won’t always have constant access to sunlight, depending on the planet.
Unlocked after researching Solar Collection, Dyson Sphere Solar Panels act as a potential solution for your power needs. You can convert stone to silicon and start producing solar panels fairly early. Some planets will provide you with raw silicon without the need to add stone conversion to the process, which also helps. If you’re on a planet with lower sun exposure or intensity, they might not prove to be ideal for all your buildings.
That being said, you should find somewhere to slot them in, especially considering how most of the other power buildings produce power by different means. Their smaller size can prove attractive in certain circumstances.
As opposed to Wind Turbines, Solar Panels can also be placed closer to each other, allowing a more efficient use of space. That being said, combining the two power generating buildings can be a very viable strategy.
Building a Solar Panel farm on the planet’s poles is one approach that you could take. You could also put in the extra time and create a ring of them around the equator, but, ultimately, you’re free to experiment with how you build things.
You can then link them up with distant buildings through Tesla Towers or Wireless Power Towers. Accumulators also help store excess power when your panels go offline, so the rest of your buildings can continue working.
