UPDATED: 14th January, 2021 - Since the Fleet Carriers update, Elite Dangerous players have been experiencing an above average number of Frontier’s snake (ship) based error codes. This time we look into the Yellow Adder, what it means, and whether it can be fixed.
The good news first, if you’ve been stung by the Yellow Adder, it’s not your fault. Most of the codes being thrown recently are server side issues and Yellow Adder is no exception. This one is likely due to the increase in player numbers since the update and the server capacity.
The bad news is that there’s not a lot you can do to fix this, but many players have reported that repeated login attempts have gotten them into the game eventually.
Elite Dangerous Error Code Yellow Adder - Can It Be Fixed?
Yellow Adder pops up more frequently when the servers are placed into maintenance mode, or if there’s a planned server outage. If you lose a worthwhile amount of progress or see a contract cancelled during this period, we would recommend contacting customer support, as they may be able to help you get some of this lost progress or contracts back.
Don’t forget to check our Elite Dangerous Server Status page if you’re experiencing difficulties logging in, as this is more than likely to be the main problem causing the Yellow Adder error code.
