Hooded Horse and Slug Disco are set to move its ant-themed blend of RTS and base-building out of early access on 7th June on Steam.
Empires of the Undergrowth’s final arc of the single-player campaign and new ant species will debut in its 1.0 launch.
Empires of the Undergrowth has been in early access for seven years
Empires of the Undergrowth lets players build an empire in the world of ants by constructing nests and managing a complex hierarchy that it says brings “a new dimension to the real-time strategy genre”.
Control various warrior ant species in intense battles, direct your workers to expand and sustain your base, and protect your queen at all costs.
Empires of the Undergrowth has been in early access for seven years and has undergone numerous changes. However, the 1.0 patch for the full release is expected to bring even more significant updates and content.
This update introduces a new savannah environment, complete with its own unique creatures and hazards. It also adds new ant species that you can play in both the campaign and custom games. The final arc of the single-player campaign includes three new documentary-style missions with full voice acting and new artwork. Additionally, a New Game Plus mode will be available.
Empires of the Undergrowth is available in early access on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. The price is set at $29.99, £24.99, or €29.99.
