Endless Legend 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to one of the past decade’s most imaginative 4X strategy games, is officially coming to early access on PC in early 2025.
Developer Amplitude Games, who recently parted ways with publisher Sega after almost a decade under its umbrella, has partnered with strategy and simulation publisher Hooded Horse for the release of the second game in the series.
Endless Legend 2 Early Access
Set on the oceanic world of Saiadha, Endless Legend 2 puts our adaptability to the test thanks to its “ever-changing seasons and monstrous tidefalls [that] dramatically transform the landscape.”
As the water level shifts, the environment turns into “both an obstacle and a chance for discovery,” according to the developer, potentially hampering our plans while also uncovering both secrets and ancient threats.
Endless Legend 2 enters early access with four playable factions, each with its own philosophy and playstyle contributing to a hefty dose of asymmetric gameplay. By the time its full release comes around, two others will join the roster.
Each faction is led by a hero whose journey throughout Saiadha we guide. We’ll claim land, settle and grow our cities, earn experience, meet allies, as well as clash with a variety of different opponents, some fleshier than others.
Starting on January 30, those eager to try out the sequel before it becomes officially available can fill out this application form , which makes you eligible for a chance to participate in Amplitude’s Insiders Program.
Endless Legend 2’s reveal trailer, embedded below, gives us a glimpse at its world and striking art style while showcasing several of Saiadha’s inhabitants, some of which are likely members of its playable factions.
Furthermore, the sequel’s Steam page is also now available, allowing us to wishlist and follow it prior to its early access launch.
