Enshrouded’s weapons list enables dealing damage both up close and at range, granting enough flexibility to approach each encounter as you see fit.
Embervale’s hostile wildlife employs different tactics than its corrupted mages and massive bosses, which is why you will find that hitting them all with the same stick might not always be optimal.
Enshrouded Weapons List
A magic wand can save your life when you need to deliver the killing blow to a brawler without approaching them, just like a shield can protect you while closing in the distance to an enemy archer. Below, we list all the weapons we discovered so far in Enshrouded.
In Enshrouded, weapons come from two sources. You’ll find a fair few while adventuring throughout Embervale, whether on the corpses of defeated foes or inside chests. Alternatively, you can also craft them at the NPCs you rescue along the way, as you would armor.
The latter approach allows you to target specific weapon types, but you’re much more likely to find higher-quality weapons out in the wild, at least early on.
So far, we’ve found the following types of weapons:
- Swords
- Axes
- Maces
- Bows
- Staves
- Wands
- Shields
- Wards
- Dual Wielding Daggers
As you probably expect, swords, axes, and maces deliver punishment up close. The main difference between them stems from their associated damage types.
Swords primarily deal cutting damage, axes are mainly about a mixture of cutting and blunt damage, while maces mainly deal blunt damage. This can vary depending on the exact weapon you’re wielding.
Bows, staves, and wands are the go-to choices of ranged users. To use the former, you’ll need to stock up on arrows and keep in mind that each shot can consume stamina, depending on the bow.
It’s vital to make sure that you have enough ammo before heading out and that said ammo is effective against whichever foe you’re about to face. The hunter is the NPC you’ll want to see if you decide to use bows on your adventure.
Staff attacks consume charges of different elemental effects, allowing you to switch between fire, ice, or curative spells on the fly.
You can craft staff ammo at the Alchemist. In addition, eternal variants of these spells are spread across Embervale, enabling you to use them indefinitely when equipped, provided you have enough mana.
Wands then have the advantage of not requiring charges nor consuming mana. This, however, comes at the cost of less damage and being limited to a single damage type based on the wand you’re currently wielding.
Shields and wards are also considered weapons in Enshrouded, although they fulfill a defensive purpose, protecting you against attacks.
It’s important to note that you can switch between these weapon types at will but some can become more powerful as you purchase skills associated with them. That being said, nothing stops a mage from pulling out an axe, rushing, then stunlocking ranged opponents.
