The Aztecs feature a unique mechanic that encourages warfare and necessitates sacrifices. Additionally, new strategies have been introduced to unify the Mayan nations into a single kingdom and bolster Incan royal authority. Moreover, the Aztecs, Maya, and Inca nations each benefit from an alternate-history scenario where they invade the Old World.
Both The Netherlands and Venice have more historical flavour, including more in-depth content surrounding the formation and expansion of the Dutch Republic, the Glorious Revolution that united the Dutch and British crowns, the influential Venetian Council of Ten, and the Venetian Renaissance.

The Central Asian Horde nations receive updates, with unique flavours added for the Tatar, Mongol, and Moghul Khanates.
Austria, Hungary, and Bohemia have revised tech trees, including options for Austria and Hungary to form the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary, and for Bohemia to expand Hussite influence at the core of the Empire. All three nations can customise the Holy Roman Empire to their liking.
New alternate historical options and content are available for the formation of Germany and Italy. Meanwhile, the Black Sea kingdoms of Theodoro and Trebizond, surrounded by enemies, strive to thrive and expand, opening up the chance to revive Orthodox fortunes in the region.
The minor nation Hisn Kayfa, heirs to the Ayyubid dynasty, along with the major Gulf trading powers of Hormuz and Oman, now have unique mission trees designed to dominate the Middle East.
