Fallout 76 Legendary Perks add an additional layer of customization while providing a helpful power boost for characters both old and new. Introduced in Update 22, they’re now a part of everyone’s adventure through Appalachia.
Fallout 76’s Legendary Perks are all unlocked by default but their dedicated slots only become available once your character reaches certain thresholds. A total of six Legendary Perk slots can be unlocked by reaching levels 50, 100, 150, 200, and 300 with a character. You’ll find their associated button on top of the regular Perk card menu.

Once you’ve unlocked these slots, every other character on your account can also access them, regardless of level. This means that fresh characters also benefit from Legendary Perks.
You can upgrade Fallout 76’s Legendary Perks up to Rank 4 using Perk Coins gained from scrapping regular Perk Cards. Each scrapped Perk Card grants 2 Perk Coins per rank.
Perk Coins and Legendary Perk Ranks are not shared across characters. Similarly, Legendarky Perk builds are not shared between characters. To upgrade one perk, you’ll need 50, 100, and 150 Perk Coins for Ranks 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
