Fallout 76 Patch 8.5 introduces the ProSnap Deluxe in-game camera, which allows players to more easily fill their in-game Photomode Gallery with snapshots from around the Wasteland. The item can be equipped, favorited and used much like any weapon and displays the name of the locations and creatures in its viewfinder. In order to snap photos, you’ll need to craft Film at a Tinker’s Workbench. Furthermore, players will be able to tackle a slew of camera-related challenges and the Bucket List quest once they’ve acquired a ProSnap Deluxe.
Fallout 76 Patch 8.5 also adds Repair Kits, which can be used to repair your equipment while out in the field. They come in two varieties: Basic and Improved. The Basic Repair Kits restore one item to 100% condition without using any crafting materials and can only be purchased from the Atomic Shop, using Atoms you’ve either purchased or earned from in-game activities. They cannot be otherwise crafted, dropped, sold to vendors, or traded. Improved Repair Kits raise an item’s condition to 150% and are rare items that can only be obtained through completing specific in-game content.
Repair Kits have previously raised pay-to-win concerns among the community. Bethesda addressed this by saying the following: “While Repair Kits do offer a way to fix an item in the field, we feel you will find that they are a convenient option you can utilize during your adventures. If we find that Repair Kits do offer any sort of competitive advantage once they are available, we will make any changes necessary to ensure that advantage is removed.”
A smaller highlight of Fallout 76 Patch 8.5 comes in the form of Aluminium being obtainable from scrapping Aluminum Oil Cans, Trays and Empty cans. Aluminum Oil Cans will now grant 1 Aluminium instead of 1 Steel, while Aluminium Trays and Empty Cans both grant 2 Aluminium, when scrapped, instead of 2 Steel. All three items have also had their prices increased.
