Far Cry New Dawn has got the most substantial selection of companions we've yet seen in contemporary Far Cry offerings, short of maybe Far Cry 2, though there was no practical difference between companion characters there.
Far Cry New Dawn companion upgrades are a crucial feature of the game's roster of support characters, too, and you might find yourself in a pickle at later stages of the game if your crew doesn't attain a level-up or two along the way.
How to Upgrade Companions in Far Cry New Dawn?
Though this may come as a bit of a disappointment to some, all of Far Cry New Dawn's numerous companions are upgraded in exactly the same way. No wacky achievements or special task completions required here, we're afraid - all you need to do is let your crew do some killing, too.
Any given New Dawn companion character starts off at 0 kills, and with a starting skill which signifies their niche. Once they get 15 kills under their belt, their second skill will unlock, which is usually a further specialisation for them. The third and final skill will unlock once they take down 40 enemies, and while not game-breaking, these are usually an immense boon if you know how to implement them into your playing style.
