Crate Entertainment has shared some of the changes that will be made to the Trading Post in Farthest Frontier, which is an essential building in this survival building sim that allows you to purchase items like Heavy tools and is a great way to make money for your settlement.
You’ll probably have noticed that you’ve missed the traders that visit your Trading Post while playing Farthest Frontier, it’s happened to us several times, slowing down progress as we wait to purchase that vital resource; it’s especially annoying when you need heavy tools in the early stages of the game!
Crate Entertainment has taken feedback on board and will be making several changes to Farthest Frontier’s Trading Post in Patch v0.7.5, which should be released soon.
Farthest Frontier Trading Post
There will now be a notification in the top right corner and a sound that alerts players about a visiting trader, which should help with remembering to sell any goods you’ve got placed in the Trading Post that the trader wants to buy, supplying much needed gold to your settlement, or allowing you to pick up supplies that you need to grow your industry.
You may have already discovered that fires could not be put out at the Trading Post, villagers would just ignore that it was on fire and wouldn’t collect water from wells to put it out, but thankfully with Patch v0.7.5 this will now be resolved.
Crate Entertainment is working on additional fixes for traders not arriving or leaving instantly at the Trading Post, and for an issue with upgrading it, but this won’t arrive until the next update.
Farthest Frontier Trading Post Roadmap
During the Early Access period, at some point you’ll be able to request resources from visiting Traders, so if you’re looking for more Stone or Iron as an example, you’ll be able to request it, and then on the next visit the trader will sell it to you, but at a premium price. It sure beats waiting around for that vital resource.
Crate Entertainment didn’t give a clear indication of when this feature would be added, but it did say that it will come in a future update.
We’ll keep you posted on any other changes that are made to the Trading post during the early access development of Farthest Frontier, so keep checking back for more.
